Nassau, March 17th, 2023. The Minister of Health and Welfare of The Bahamas Dr. Michael Darville presented specific actions to expand the collaboration that the two countries are currently developing, in a friendly meeting with the Cuban ambassador to the Bahamas, Julio César González Marchante, at the headquarters of that Ministry.
In correspondence with new infrastructures and the expansion of public health services in the country, Cuban professionals will be selected to work in areas such as biomedical engineering, radiology, epidemiology, medical laboratories, and nursing.
The Cuban diplomat expressed Cuba's willingness to work together in these and other areas such as research and training. Present at the meeting were Permanent Secretary Colin Higgs from The Bahamas and Dr. Danixia Novoa Sotomayor, coordinator of the Cuban medical collaboration, from Cuba.
