The Embassy of Cuba in India in collaboration with the Sahytia Akademi launched a bilingual book on José Martí, in the framework of the 130th anniversary of the fall in combat of our National Hero. The book entitled “Martí, a man of all times” is a Hindi translation of an important part of the Apostle's work, which will contribute to a better knowledge and dissemination of the thought of the most universal Cuban in India.
The presentation was presided over by Cuban Ambassador Juan Carlos Marsán Aguilera; the Secretary of the Sahytia Akademi, Dr. K. Sreenivasarao; the translator of the book, Professor Vibha Maurya; and the prominent Hispanist Shyama Prasad Ganguly. Also in attendance were representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Delhi, teachers, students and friends.
During the evening, the speakers recalled the relevance of José Martí's work, as well as the need to continue disseminating his thought, especially among the new generations. They also highlighted this initiative as an opportunity to continue strengthening cultural ties between the peoples of Cuba and India.
As part of the program, a group of students from the public school “José Martí” in New Delhi, dedicated a song to the Apostle.
