Campaign of Solidarity with Cuba Promotes Support from The Bahamas
Nassau, The Bahamas, Jun 15, 2026.- The solidarity campaign “242+53: Solidarity that Unites Us” has emerged as a genuine initiative of friends of Cuba and Cuban residents in The Bahamas who are motivated to provide support to the Cuban people in light of the complex situation facing the island as a result of the tightening of measures imposed by the United States Government, the fuel blockade, and the recent executive orders announced by President Donald Trump.
The initiative calls upon individuals, organizations, and institutions to contribute through donations of medicines, essential supplies, power generation equipment, and other much-needed items.
Donations may be delivered Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., until August 14, for subsequent shipment to Cuba.
Likewise, the campaign encourages social media advocacy to denounce the collective punishment imposed on the Cuban people by the United States Government. It also calls for participation in caravans, solidarity activities, and other events that will take place in Nassau over the coming months as part of the “242+53” campaign.
This initiative reflects the bonds of friendship and cooperation that have always characterized the peoples of the Caribbean, as well as Cuba’s enduring ties with its nationals residing abroad.
