Caribbean Broadcasting Union to hold its 2016 Annual Conference in Cuba.

The General Secretary of the Caribbean Broadcasting Union (CBU), Sonia Gill, announced during a working meeting with representatives of the Barbadian Foreign Affairs Ministry and the Cuban Embassy that its 47th Annual General Assembly will be made this year in Havana, Cuba, under a collaboration agreement with the Cuban Institute of Radio and Television (ICRT). Accompanied by other members of its board, Loretta Skeete and Grace Husbands, several actions were analyzed with the Ambassador of Barbados to CARICOM, Robert Morris, and the Cuban Ambassador, Francisco Fernández, in order to ensure the successful realization of this event.
Under the slogan "Building media capacity to advance the Caribbean", the Conference will be held on October 24-27th, 2016, and will be attended by executives from the media, producers, politicians and industry product suppliers to discuss various issues related to technology access, the environment, the contents of the programs that the region demands, taking into account current opportunities and looming challenges.
