The Caribbean Regional Initiating Committee of the Pan African Federalist Movement Statement Calling for the end of the U.S. Embargo against Cuba

The Caribbean Regional Initiating Committee of the Pan African Federalist Movement Statement Calling for the end of the U.S. Embargo against Cubaand for the people of the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico to be protected from Predatory Speculators and land vultures trying to disinherit and disenfranchise them.

The Pan African Federalist Movement joins 191 countries in supporting Resolution 71/5 of the United Nations General Assembly entitled "Necessity of Ending the Economic Commercial and Financial Blockade Imposed by USA against Cuba."!

In June 2017, US President, Donald Trump reversed the diplomatic policy of rapprochement with Cuba, initiated by his predecessor President Barack Obama by signing the Trading with the Enemy Act of 2017, applied intensely in economic and financial sectors and reinforcing the Torricelli and Helms-Burton Acts of Cold War antecedents.

The Regional Initiating Committee of the Caribbean for the Pan African Federalist Movement has gone on record to denounce and call for the removal of this genocidal blockade against the Cuban people and their government.   This embargo notwithstanding, the United States Food and Drug Administration purchases Cuban pharmaceuticals, proven to effectively treat diabetes while public health and food un Cuba have become targets.  12 hours of blockade are the equivalent of denial of insulin to 64,000 patients a year.

Despite these pressures, which according to Pan Africanists on the ground in Cuba, has been most heavily burdened the elderly and people of African descent, the Government and people of Cuba have found it possible to render disaster aid and relief to brothers and sisters in Dominica, Barbuda and St.Maarten.

Meanwhile, President Trump tosses paper towels and congratulates himself on what a great job he is doing as a proponent of malignant neglect in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.  PAFM members in Dominica and the Virgin Islands have shared with us stories of unscrupulous, deep-pocketed speculators offering cash-strapped islanders whose land has been in the family for generations, pepper corn prices. PAFM calls on regulatory authorities to protect defenceless victims of nature and man-made calamities, from ruthless carpetbaggers, eager to profit from the misfortune of African people.
