Celebrate in India the 70th anniversary of July 26.

Different political forces in India, led by the National Cuba Solidarity Committee, organized a solidarity meeting in commemoration of the 70th anniversary of July 26. The event was presided over by the General Secretary of the Communist Party (Marxist), Sitaram Yechury; the Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of India, Binoy Viswon; the General Secretary of the Communist Party (Marxist Leninist) Liberation, Dipankar Bhattacharya; and the General Secretary of the All India Forward Bloc Party, G. Devarajan; and the Cuban Ambassador Alejandro Simancas Marin.

The meeting became a space for the defense of the Cuban Revolution and its achievements during more than sixty years of development of a socialist economic and social project. The participants unanimously approved a Resolution, demanding that Cuba be removed from the List of State Sponsors of Terrorism and demanding the end of the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States government against the Cuban people.

The party leaders highlighted the historical significance of the events of July 26, led by Fidel Castro, and agreed that Cuba continues to inspire progressive movements around the world. Likewise, they ratified their invariable solidarity and support to the Cuban Revolution.

The Cuban diplomat, for his part, highlighted the severe damage caused by the economic blockade and the current validity of the reinforcement measures and denounced the presence of Cuba on the infamous list of the US government on States that allegedly sponsor terrorism. He expressed his gratitude for the various expressions of solidarity and support of the Indian people in our struggle, which continue to strengthen the bonds of friendship, solidarity and cooperation between the two peoples.

The meeting was also attended by leaders of women's, trade union, student and youth organizations, as well as other members of the solidarity movement with Cuba in India.

Parallel to this meeting, the 70th anniversary of July 26 was also celebrated in the state of Kerala in a meeting presided over by M. A. Baby, Coordinator of the National Cuba Solidarity Committee and head of International Relations of the Communist Party of India (Marxist).
