The second Sunday in May 2024, Mother's Day, coincided with Nursing Day. On this occasion, the Cuban Medical Brigade, Port of Spain region together with the group of the State Mission in Trinidad and Tobago celebrated both dates together.
The activity was chaired by the Ambassador, Gustavo Veliz Olivares and Dr. Orlando L. Díaz Gómez, Head of the Medical Brigade, who delivered the central words of the celebration. The moment was also favorable to recognize two collaborators who completed their mission and returned to the Homeland in a short time. Those present thanked them for their performance and wished them success in their next missions. The role of nurses in the country's health centers was highlighted, their integrity, devotion, passion and professionalism in each job, and they were urged to continue keeping the name of Cuba high, as they have done until now.
Also present on behalf of the Embassy were the Minister-Counselor, Gilda López; the Commercial Counselor, Julio Cabada; the Counselor, Leydis Bernal and the Administrative Manager, Rodolfo Torres.
