Celebration of the 20th Congress of the Communist Party of Quebec in Montreal

Ottawa, May 25, 2024: The Consul General of Cuba in Montreal, Susana Malmierca Benítez, participated as a guest at the celebration of the 20th Congress of the Communist Party of Quebec.

The occasion was propitious for an exchange with representatives of the Association of Greek Workers of Quebec, the Communist Party of Colombia, the Organization of the Lebanese Communist Party-Montreal, as well as the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Canada, Elizabeth Rowley.

Based on the principles of Marxism-Leninism, the Communist Party of Quebec carries out political, economic and theoretical struggles to realize its project of building socialism.

In this regard, the Day contributed to the condemnation of the unjust economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba, as well as the inclusion of the island on the arbitrary U.S. list of countries sponsoring terrorism. At the same time, the massacre of the Palestinian people by Israeli troops was condemned.

For her part, the Consul General thanked for the invitation and highlighted the main results achieved by Cuba in recent years. She also highlighted the harmful effects of the blockade on the internal development of the country and Cuba's uninterrupted support to the Palestinian cause.
