New Delhi, 14th October 2025. The Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in India celebrated Cuban Culture Day with the screening of the film Yuli, inspired by the life of the famous Cuban dancer Carlos Acosta.
The event was held in collaboration with the Cervantes Institute and brought together an audience of more than fifty diplomats, academics, students, representatives of the cultural world and friends of Cuba. In his opening remarks, the Ambassador of Cuba Juan Carlos Marsan Aguilera highlighted that every 20 October is commemorated the first performance of the National Anthem, and referred to the unique blend that characterizes the culture of the Caribbean nation.
The film was presented by first secretary Maiky Diaz Perez who stressed the role of art as a bridge of understanding between peoples and as a way to bring Cuba and India closer together.
The event concluded with an exchange between the attendees on the relevance of contemporary Cuban art and its international projection, reaffirming the friendship and willingness to collaborate between Cuba and India.
