The Head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Turkmenistan, Dovletgeldi Dzhumadurdyevich Rejepov, expressed his interest in promoting trade between his nation and Cuba during a working meeting with the Cuban ambassador, Alfredo Nieves Portuondo.
At the meeting, held at the headquarters of the Turkmen institution, the Cuban diplomat reported on the recent XXXVII International Fair of Havana (FIHAV 2019) and the progress of the Special Development Zone of Mariel.
Nieves Portuondo stressed that Cuba seeks to increase foreign sales of traditional and non-traditional products as part of its strategy.
He also stressed that the FIHAV presented the Portfolio of Opportunities for foreign investment, the Commercial Directory of Cuba 2020-2021 and the IV Investment Forum was held.
On the other hand, Rejepov considered that there are potentials in different sectors for commercial exchange and thanked the invitation to attend the next fair in Havana.
The Turkmen manager appreciated that his country is willing to move forward in trade relations with Cuba in order to place them at the level occupied by bilateral ties.
