Charge d'Affaires a.i. of Cuba to Lebanon shares with Foreign Affairs university students.

The Charge d'Affaires a.i. of the Cuban embassy in Lebanon, Emilio Pevida Sánchez held a pleasant exchange with students from the Faculty of Foreign Affairs of the University of Notre Dame in Beirut.

University students Kate Barakat and Nour Bekdach were interested in the work of the Cuban diplomatic mission and how it promotes Cuba's interests in Lebanon. They also commented on the training process at their university and their aspirations to become diplomats for their country to respond to the interests of their people.

During the exchange, the Cuban diplomat denounced the aggressive blockade policy of the US government against Cuba for more than 60 years and pointed out that despite the attempts of Western powers to silence the voice of the Cuban people, they haven’t been able to achieve their objectives. In this sense, he emphasized the recent victory achieved at the UNGA, in which 185 countries voted in favor of lifting the US blockade against the Island.

In addition, he stressed that Cuban diplomats respect the International Law, the United Nations Charter, the principles and values of the Cuban revolution, both in the bilateral and multilateral scenario, which has allowed them to enjoy great prestige in the international arena, always in opposition to the imperialist forces and defending the just causes of the peoples of the world.

In addition, the students showed great admiration for the work of Cuban politicians and diplomats, thanked the meeting and wished the Cuban official success carrying out his duties.
