The Charge d'Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of Cuba in India, Abel Aballe Despaigne, held a meeting with ten Indian businessmen from the state of Kerala associated with the traditional medicine system of Ayurveda. At the meeting, the opportunities for cooperation and business in this sector between Cuba and India, particularly in Kerala, were highlighted, based on training, participation in events, exchange of experiences and delegations as well as the opening of Ayurveda centers in Cuba, taking advantage of the strengths of the Cuban health system and its recognition at international level.
The Cuban diplomat explained the current conditions of our health system, the development of traditional medicine in Cuba, as well as the importance that we attach to it and the actions we are taking to continue developing health tourism in Cuba. He also highlighted our experiences in Ayurveda, from the cooperation with the government of India, which allowed the opening of the first Panchakarma Center in Latin America at the International Health Center “La Pradera” in Havana, in 2019, and the signing of a MoU between the Ministry of Health of Cuba and the Indian Ministry of Ayurveda.
