On the morning of Wednesday an exchange took place between the Chargé d'Affaires of Cuba in Liberia, Yordenis Despaigne Vera and Mr. Oluremi Sogunro, Representative of the United Nations Population Fund, based in Monrovia. The meeting took place at the Fund's headquarters, located in the Liberian capital.
In a cordial atmosphere, they exchanged about various aspects, including the commitment of both parties to advance in the projects of medical collaboration, aimed especially at maternal and child care. The Chargé d'Affaires ratified Cuba's willingness to accompany Liberia in its development, particularly in an area as sensitive as health. For his part, the multilateral official recognized the importance of Cuba being able to contribute its expertise and human resources, due to the accumulated experience and the proven capacity in health issues.
The interlocutors agreed on the importance of evaluating initiatives, as a whole, that contribute to the improvement of the quality of life of the Liberian population.
