n February 25, US secretary of state Marco Rubio announced restrictions on visas for both government officials in Cuba and any others worldwide who are “complicit” with the island nation’s overseas medical-assistance programs.
The Cuban Ambassador, Dr. Indira López Arguelles, had the honor of greeting former President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, the first African President, and winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, among other prominent Liberian intellectuals and politicians’ women.
The Cuban Ambassador, Dr. Indira López Arguelles, recently visited the Ministry of Health and Welfare of Liberia, where she met with its executives, and spoke with the Honorable Minister, Dr. Louise M. Kpoto.
All of the those present there, recalled the heroic work of Cuban doctors during the Ebola epidemic, and during Covid, and addressed the possibilities of strengthening the links between this sphere between both nations. 
At the headquarters of the Ministry of Education in Monrovia, Dr. Jarso M. Jallah, the Minister, received the Cuban ambassador, Dr. Indira López Arguelles.
The minister thanked the scholarships that Havana offers for Liberian students and evaluated other opportunities to strengthen ties in this sphere.
The Ambassador updated the Island's progress recognized by UNESCO such as the Yes I Can method, among other multiple work potentials.
