Cuban Ambassador Attends Monrovia Day Celebrations:

February 16th marks the anniversary of the founding of Monrovia, the capital of this African nation. The occasion was marked by festivities, awards ceremonies, and reviews of the city's beautification efforts, as well as discussions of remaining needs. The main event took place at City Hall and was attended by business leaders, prominent figures, and members of the diplomatic corps. Ambassador Dr. Indira López Arguelles was among those present.

The Ambassador of Cuba, Dr. Indira López Argüelles, was received on a courtesy visit by the Deputy Foreign Minister, Ambassador Ethel Davis, recently appointed to her post.

The Cuban diplomat expressed her gratitude for Liberia's vote in favor of the Cuban resolution at the United Nations against the U.S. blockade and outlined the current conditions that reinforce it and cause extreme suffering for the Cuban people in attempts to break it.

Cuban Ambassador Attends National Defense Day

The Liberian army commemorated National Defense Day with a colorful parade, which also included Pioneers and young admirers of the Fire Department.

Among those present, along with the diplomatic corps, was the Cuban Ambassador, Dr. Indira López Arguelles, who were able to appreciate the army's first graduating class, as well as the increased presence of women within the army and in the armed forces.

Minister of Public Works Receives Cuban Ambassador

The Honorable Minister of Public Works, Mr. Roland Layfette Giddings, received the Cuban Ambassador, Dr. Indira López Arguelles, at the Ministry headquarters.

Ambassador López Arguelles provided him with an update on the political situation in Latin America and the tightening of the blockade against Cuba by the Donald Trump administration in the United States.
