Several Liberian NGOs—focused on peace, human rights, and rebuilding the social fabric—visited the Cuban Embassy in Liberia to reaffirm their members' commitment to strengthening ties with the Cuban people and their representatives in Monrovia.
Welcomed by the Cuban Ambassador, Dr. Indira López Argüelles, the visitors were briefed on the situation in Cuba, the U.S. blockade against the Cuban people, the energy embargo, and Cuba's resolve to continue its path of independence and sovereignty. The diplomat also reiterated the Cuban principle that "there is no peace without development"—a tenet that drives the cooperation and solidarity efforts of Cuban professionals.
The meeting addressed ways to foster people-to-people ties and strengthen bilateral relations between Cuba and Liberia.
