Liberian Legislature Interacts with Diplomatic Corps

The diplomatic corps present in Monrovia visited the Liberian Legislative Assembly, holding discussions with the heads of the parliamentary committees and the Speaker, the Honorable Richard Kung.

The diplomats were briefed on the main bills under debate, the Assembly's recent agreements regarding the nation's economic development, and the priorities identified by the members of Congress for relations with other nations.

Liberian Minister of Internal Affairs Receives Cuban Ambassador

The Honorable Francis Sakila Nyumalin, Minister of Internal Affairs of Liberia, received the Cuban Ambassador, Dr. Indira López Arguelles.

The Cuban Ambassador conveyed the Cuban government's gratitude to the Liberian people and government for their support of Cuba in its struggle against the U.S. blockade. She explained to the Minister the administrative divisions of the Caribbean island and their connection to the functioning of the Cuban Parliament.

The Cuban Ambassador in Monrovia, Dr. Indira López Arguelles, received a heartfelt letter from Dr. Arthur B.C. Wah, Executive Director of the Liberian chapter of the NGO CARE Humanity, expressing condolences for the heroic deaths in combat of the 32 Cubans in Venezuela.

Cuban Ambassador Invited to Supreme Court Inaugural Session

The Supreme Court of Liberia held its inaugural session with the presence of the diplomatic corps, including the Cuban Ambassador, Dr. Indira López Arguelles.

This Liberian court expressed its commitment to upholding order, sovereignty, and the development of the African nation.
