The Honorable Francis Sakila Nyumalin, Minister of Internal Affairs of Liberia, received the Cuban Ambassador, Dr. Indira López Arguelles.
The Cuban Ambassador conveyed the Cuban government's gratitude to the Liberian people and government for their support of Cuba in its struggle against the U.S. blockade. She explained to the Minister the administrative divisions of the Caribbean island and their connection to the functioning of the Cuban Parliament.
In turn, Mr. Francis Sakila Nyumalin expressed his interest in working to strengthen ties between the Cuban and Liberian peoples. He emphasized that decentralization and municipal autonomy are government policies in both countries, particularly regarding issues such as food and energy sovereignty.
