Chargé d'Affaires of Cuba in Liberia receives leaders of the National Democratic Coalition

Cuban Chargé d'affaires in Liberia, Yordenis Despaigne Vera, received leaders of the National Democratic Coalition (NDC) at the headquarters of the Cuban diplomatic mission, who paid a courtesy visit. The political organization delegation was headed by its president, Mr. Ciapha S. Gborle, and his political leader, Dr. Nyaquai Kargbo, as well as two other members of the executive.

The visitors expressed their appreciation of Cuba's social achievements, its heroic resistance to the aggressions of the Western powers, and thanked Cuba for its continued support for the African peoples, particularly Liberia, in the areas of health and capacity building for human resources. They also explained the history of the NDC and the aspirations for the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections in Liberia, to be held in October.

For his part, the Cuban diplomat gave a brief overview of the historical cultural ties, collaboration and friendship between Cuba and Africa and ratified the commitment of the Cuban Revolution with this continent. He also explained aspects of the history, organization and functioning of the Communist Party of Cuba (CCP) and its role in the direction of society in the Cuban State.

The meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere and both sides agreed on the importance of establishing and deepening ties between the CCP and the NDC, which will allow collaboration in areas that benefit both institutions, as well as our peoples.
