March 26 and 27 were the dates for tourism promotion events held in Toronto and Montreal, respectively. Both galas, organized by Vila Galé Hotéis with travel agents in Canada, served to higlight the tourist destinations of Cuba, Portugal, Brazil, and Spain.
As for Cuba, it was highlighted the characteristics and charms of the destination, in particular the Hotel Cayo Paredón Grande, a paradise located off the northern coast of the country. In addition, it was announced the upcoming opening of three new hotels in the tourist hubs of Varadero, Santa María, and Havana, very popular among Canadian visitors.
Cuba welcomes nearly 1 million Canadian tourists annually, making Canada the largest source market for tourists to the largest of the Antilles.
Diplomatic representatives from Cuba, Brazil, and Portugal also attended the galas in Toronto and Montreal.
