Addis Ababa, March 3, 2021. Executives of the Business Group of the Ministry of Education of Cuba (known as GE-MINED) and the CEO of the Educational Materials Production and Distribution Enterprise of Ethiopia (EMPDE), sustained a fruitful virtual meeting, where they assessed the potentialities of collaboration between both countries in the educational sector.
The Cuban companies that are members of GE-MINED Business Group presented their goods and services, which have notably supported the development of the Cuban teaching-educational program and which could be used by Ethiopia for the same purpose.
Both parties agreed to continue working to implement a joint cooperation project.
The two countries have a long history of collaboration in the education sector, which began in 1978 with the Educational Program for Ethiopian students, which enabled the training of around 5,000 Ethiopian professionals in our country. Hundreds of Cuban educators have provided their services in this African country at various levels of education, for which they enjoy a very high recognition.
