Collective of the Embassy of Cuba in Lebanon salutes the day of National Rebellion

Beirut July 26, 2020. The Collective of the Cuban Embassy in Lebanon salutes the 67th Anniversary of the assault on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks, the day of National Rebellion. The apostle could not die in the year of his centenary. 67 years later we continue to fight with Martí and with Fidel at the head.

Full of strength and renewed energy, the Cuban Revolution arrived on the 67th anniversary of the events of the Moncada, in a year full of challenges and tensions, to which the pandemic from which we recovered was added extraordinary challenges. The firm will to win encourages us to arrive with pride and optimism to this date, which we will celebrate with the caution required in light of the health situation.

With faith placed in the goodness and greatness of what has been created, the unity of the Cuban people, solidarity and discipline have prevailed in the fulfillment of the strategy approved by the Party, and led by the Government and the Defense Councils, In what has been determining the strength of a health system articulated from the community, the participation of accumulated scientific knowledge in decision-making, the work of mass organizations and the timely monitoring of our media.

We face this scenario based on the exemplary work of Fidel, who trained us with a humanist vocation and bequeathed us all that wealth of integrated forces, and institutions and professionals that have once again demonstrated the dignified dedication and moving capacity of socialist Cuba.

Everything that has happened is enough to confirm that July 26 marked the beginning of a new era in Cuban history. Those who did not let the Apostle's ideas die with that colossal assault on Cuba's second military fortress, next to the Carlos Manuel de Céspedes de Bayamo barracks, have recognized that they never suspected, when on the morning of Santa Ana they proposed to defeat the tyranny Batista, having reached these days after more than six decades of continuous struggle, not even when, in compliance with the order of the Commander in Chief, they entered Santiago de Cuba in triumph on January 1, 1959, exactly five years, five months and five days after the Moncada.
