New Delhi, January 13, 2017. A political-cultural activity celebrated at the Cuban Embassy in this capital paid homage to the Cuban Revolution on its 58th Anniversary. In his words to the audience, Cuban ambassador Oscar Martinez Cordoves highlighted the importance of the Revolution led by Fidel Castro and the historic ties of friendship and cooperation between the two countries in 57 years of diplomatic relations, since January 12, 1960.
The occasion was conducive to reiterate to thank the government and the people of India for their continuous support to Cuba in the fight against the economic, financial and commercial blockade still imposed by the United States to our country for more than half a century. The event was attended by the Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare of the Government of India, Mr. Faggan Singh Kulaste, as a Chief Guest, and the participation of other leaders and officials of that ministry, the chancellery, political forces, parliamentarians, diplomats of various latitudes, Entrepreneurs, professors and the general public. It also had the presence of Cuban officials in New Delhi through the program ITEC Scholarships offered by the Foreign Ministry of India. (Cubaminrex/Embacubaindia).
