A meeting was held at the Cuban Embassy in Grenada between officials from the diplomatic mission and members of the Committee of Graduates in Cuba, led by Ambassador Yadirys Echenique Paz, Consul Ariel Pazos Ortiz, and the Committee’s coordinator, Malachy Dottin.
During the meeting, the diplomatic officials provided a detailed briefing on Cuba’s current situation to the former students in attendance, who expressed their concern over the latest escalation in U.S. hostility toward the largest island in the Caribbean.
Several attendees shared anecdotes from their time in Cuba as university students during different periods of recent history. They also expressed their solidarity with Martí’s homeland and emphasized the importance of keeping alive the bonds of friendship forged during their years of study on the island.
During the meeting, the Graduates Committee, which brings together professionals from Granada in various fields, announced that its members are exploring ways to support Cuba in the difficult situation it faces due to the cumulative impact of the U.S. blockade over more than six decades.
