The Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) demanded the immediate removal of Cuba from the US government's unilateral list of alleged state sponsors of terrorism and demanded the lifting of the inhumane and criminal economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed on the Cuban people for over 60 years.
On behalf of the PCI-M, the head of its International Relations division and member of its Political Bureau, M. A. Baby, stressed that the US excluded Cuba from the list of nations that “do not fully cooperate in the fight against terrorism”. However, this does not mean the elimination of Cuba from the US list designating countries as “State Sponsors of Terrorism”. The permanence of Cuba on this list constitutes one of the main genocidal tools of the U.S. government to strangle the Cuban people.
He also pointed out that recent studies have shown that a large part of the U.S. population also demands the elimination of Cuba from the list.
He further noted that the U.S. continues to promote and finance systematic media operations with fake news and propaganda to project the Cuban government as responsible for the impact of these inhumane measures.
The Cuban people have bravely resisted many attempts to destabilize the socialist system. The PCI-M is confident that it will once again stand up to U.S. intimidation and hold high the banner of equality and freedom guaranteed by the socialist system.
The PCI-M reiterates its solidarity with Cuba in these difficult times and joins the voices demanding the immediate removal of Cuba from the list of state sponsors of terrorism, unilaterally prepared by the U.S. government without any political or moral authority.
LONG LIVE CUBA!
DOWN WITH IMPERIALISM!
LONG LIVE SOCIALISM!
LONG LIVE FRIENDSHIP BETWEEN THE PEOPLES OF CUBA AND INDIA!
