Monrovia, October 17th , 2018-, Sensitized by the statistics and examples on the consequences of the genocidal political blockade imposed by the United States government against Cuba, the communicators participating in the press conference delivered the day before by the Chargé d'Affairs of Cuba Embassy Yordenis Despaigne Vera gave wide dissemination to the debate held.
The newspapers "Daily Observer", "The News", "New Democrat" and "FrontPage Africa" and the radio stations "Radio Gee" and "Radio ECOWAS" reflected the heavy economic losses of the Cuban State for the sanctions of the blockade. They also referred to the tightening and regression experienced with the new US administration after the approach achieved in the Obama era. The marked extraterritorial nature of the blockade did not escape journalists because it interfered with, limited and conditioned Cuba's commercial, banking and financial relations with third countries. The libels highlighted the "resilience, strength, determination and ability" of the people of Cuba to overcome the sanctions of such absurd nature and long-standing, underlining that "Cuba has been one of the countries of Latin America with vibrant health and education systems despite the shortcomings and suffering imposed by the blockade in various areas. "
For its part, the newspaper "The New Dawn" reproduced in full the official declaration of solidarity with Cuba and rejection of the policy of blockade, enunciated by the graduate in Cuba William Wesseh on behalf of the Association of Friendship Liberia-Cuba.
The Liberian press becomes another channel of denunciation of a stagnant policy, overwhelmingly rejected by the international community - and even the American people themselves -, helping to break the walls of silence and manipulation that reigns over the Cuban reality.
