Toronto, September 2026. — The Consulate General of Cuba in Toronto conducted a working visit to the provinces of Alberta and British Columbia, with the aim of bringing consular services closer to Cuban residents in these regions and facilitating various procedures.
The first stage of the visit took place in the city of Calgary, Alberta, where consular services were provided over two consecutive days to members of the Cuban community, including passport renewals and other procedures of interest.
During the stay in Calgary, Cuban Consul General in Toronto, Víctor Manuel García Sánchez, met with Cubans who attended the consular service days. The meetings provided an opportunity to hear firsthand their concerns, proposals, and issues of interest to the community, while also helping to strengthen communication between the consular representation and Cuban nationals.
Subsequently, the Consulate General's team traveled to Vancouver, British Columbia, where another consular service day was held. The initiative made it possible to provide services to Cubans residing in the city, as well as to nationals who traveled from other nearby communities and provinces.
These service days are part of the efforts of the Consulate General of Cuba in Toronto to facilitate access to consular services and maintain close and ongoing communication with the Cuban community residing in Canada.
The visits to Calgary and Vancouver also provided an opportunity to meet directly with Cuban nationals, exchange views on their main interests, and strengthen ties with the Cuban community in the western part of the country.
Participants expressed their appreciation for the organization of these service days and positively valued the opportunity to access consular services closer to their places of residence.
The Consulate General of Cuba in Toronto reiterated its commitment to continuing to work to bring consular services closer to Cubans residing in Canada and strengthen ties with our community throughout the territory under its jurisdiction.
