Consulate General of Cuba in Toronto participates in tribute to Fidel Castro on the 6th Anniversary of his physical disappearance.

A simple but moving activity was held in Toronto to pay tribute to our eternal Commander in Chief, six years after his physical disappearance. The ceremony was organized by Cuba solidarity groups.

The evening included poems by several members of the organization Poetas por la Paz (Poets for Peace), beautiful Cuban pieces performed by several musicians, documentaries and heartfelt speeches. There was also a photographic exhibition of the work of the important visual artist Albino.

The members of the Consulate were able to share with representatives of the Communist Party of Canada, Young Communist League of Canada, the Canadian Network of Solidarity with Cuba, the Juan Gualberto Gómez Association of Cuban Residents, the Network of Solidarity with Latin America and the Caribbean, the Hugo Chávez Front, the Luis Riel Circle and the Palestine House in Toronto, among other organizations and intellectuals.

Among the special moments were the virtual lecture by renowned intellectual Helen Yaffe and the interventions by Zafar Bangash, Director of the Institute of Contemporary Islamic Thought in Toronto, and María Páez Victor, Spokesperson of the Bolivarian Luis Riel Circle in Toronto.

The Consul General, Jorge Yanier Castellanos, thanked all the representatives of the different organizations, who ratified their affection for our country and especially for our Commander.
