Cuba and Angola reaffirm historic cooperation ties at diplomatic meeting in Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, January 13, 2026.- The Ambassador of Cuba to the African Union, Lucas Domingo Hernández Polledo, held a cordial meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Angola to Ethiopia, Miguel César Domingos Bembe.

During the meeting, both sides emphasized the deep and cherished historical ties that bind Cuba and Angola, forged on the foundation of solidarity, mutual respect, and exemplary cooperation that has endured over time. In this regard, the value of the friendship between the two peoples and the legacy of collaboration in strategic areas were highlighted.

The Ambassadors exchanged views on issues of common interest in the African and regional context, as well as on the current challenges facing the continent, reaffirming the importance of coordination and joint work within the framework of the African Union and other multilateral forums.

The meeting took place in an atmosphere of respect, fraternity, and shared perspectives, reflecting the excellent relations that have historically characterized the ties between the two countries.
