The delegation led by the Deputy Minister of Justice of Cuba, Ms. Rosabel Gamón Verde held a meeting at the Federal Ministry of Constitutional Affairs, Reforms, Deregulation and Justice with Dr.
Andreas Pollak, Director of International Relations and with Dr. Martin Schneider, Chief Information Officer of the said ministry, as part of the delegation´s working program in Austria. The willingness to continue developing the existing cooperation relations, through which the bilateral MoU signed between its Ministers, was successfully implemented in December 2015, under which the most significant actions related to the support and transfer of experiences from Austria to Cuba in the development of computerization systems for public registries was ratified at the meeting by both parties.
The Deputy Minister Gamón Verde expressed her satisfaction to the Austrian counterpart by offering continuity to the positive relations maintained in this sector and reiterated the readiness of the new Cuban Minister, Mr. Oscar Manuel Silveira Martínez and his team to continue developing them. She thanked the support received from Austria for the crucial project of computerization of the Cuban public registries, through which delegations of experts and authorities have been exchanged during the years 2017 and 2018. She also provided information on the Constitutional Reform that is currently being developed in Cuba, highlighting the broad and democratic process of popular consultation and the various laws and regulations that as a consequence should be modified after the adoption of the new Cuban Constitution.
Mr. Pollak expressed his appreciation for the interesting information offered by the Cuban Deputy Minister and valued its extensive popular and participatory scope. He conveyed to the delegation a greeting from the Federal Minister Mr. Josef Moser and ratified the willingness of the Austrian side to continue the cooperation in this sector. The Cuban delegation, which is also composed of Mr. Felix Pedro de Armas Machado, Director from the Ministry of Justice and officials of the Cuban Embassy in Austria, is attending the Ninth Session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime at the UN headquarters in Vienna.
