June 19, 2024. Cuban Ambassador to Canada Rodrigo Malmierca Díaz held a meeting with Ms. Sandra McCardell, Assistant Deputy Minister (ADM) of Environment and Climate Change Canada.
During the meeting, several topics of interest regarding the Environment and Climate Change were discussed, such as pollution caused by plastics and the promotion of renewable energies. They also explored possibilities for strengthening bilateral cooperation and agreed positions for future international events such as the UN Conference on Biodiversity in Cali (COP16), Colombia; or the upcoming Conference of the Parties to the Convention (COP29), to be held in Baku, Azerbaijan.
The Cuban Ambassador also extended an invitation to ADM McCardell to attend the III International Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Fair to be held in Havana, Cuba, from September 18 to 20, 2024.
