Vienna, June 22. Cuba and Colombia were the guest countries at the 25th Festival of the Americas, promoted by the Association of Research and Culture for Continental America and the Caribbean (KonaK), which took place on Friday.
The cultural activity, which took place at the headquarters of the academic association, presented numerous cultural samples from both countries, including various musical genres, dances, a photographic exhibition on the socio-cultural realities of both countries.
Speaking on behalf of the Cuban Embassy, Second Secretary Karlén Regaiferos Cruzata thanked the KonaK board of directors for having chosen Cuba as the guest of honor for this meeting.
The official also thanked the members of the Association for disseminating Cuban cultural values and traditions and reaffirmed the willingness of the Cuban Embassy in Austria to continue expanding its ties with them.
The Association of Research and Culture for Continental America and the Caribbean (KonaK) was founded in Vienna in 1996. It consists of approximately 300 members from Africa, the Americas, Asia and Europe, who organize the Association's multifaceted activities and work closely with various institutes and university centers.
In 2023, a group of KonaK members visited Cuba with the aim of expanding ties with Cuban institutions and the Cuban people, as well as amplifying the results of their work related to the Greater Antilles.
