Zagreb, 11 December 2018. On the occasion of the traditional Christmas and New Year's reception hosted by H.E Ms. Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, President of the Republic of Croatia to the Diplomatic Corps accredited to that country; the Cuban Ambassador, H.E Mr. Juan Antonio Fernández Palacios held a meeting with the European President where both parties reaffirmed the good state of the bilateral relations and the willingness to continue strengthening them.
It was a suitable occasion to continue talking about the topics addressed by the Croatian President and the President of the Councils of State and Ministers of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez during their recent conversations, in the margins of the 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The Cuban Ambassador took the opportunity to express the gratitude of the Cuban Government to the Croatian President for the support received from the European nation to the resolution entitled: “Necessity of ending the economic, commercial, and financial embargo imposed by the United States of America against Cuba”, submitted by Cuba at the United Nations General Assembly, on 1st November; likewise, he reiterated the willingness of the Cuban side to make progress in the bilateral bounds in all sectors, particularly, in the economic-commercial field, where there are huge potentialities.
Cuba and Croatia celebrated the 25th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations last year and they maintain historic ties of friendship and cooperation.
