Addis Ababa, January 5, 2026.- The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to the African Union, Lucas Domingo Hernández Polledo, held a cordial meeting with the Ambassador of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to the African Union, Hirut Zemene.
During the meeting, both parties highlighted the historic ties of friendship, solidarity, and cooperation that unite Cuba and Ethiopia, based on mutual respect, the brotherhood between their peoples, and a shared vision in favor of multilateralism and South-South cooperation.
The exchange provided an opportunity to address issues of common interest within the framework of the African Union, as well as to explore new opportunities to strengthen bilateral cooperation in areas such as health, education, human resource development, and political coordination in regional and international forums.
Both diplomats reaffirmed their commitment to further deepening the excellent relations between their countries and to continue promoting joint initiatives that contribute to sustainable development and the well-being of the peoples of Africa and the Caribbean.
