Cuba's First Deputy Minister of Communications, Wilfredo González Vidal, chaired a business forum in the information technology and telecommunications sector held in New Delhi, organized by the PHDCCI Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Global Trade and Technology Council of India (GTTCI).
On the Cuban side, Ambassador Alejandro Simancas Marin, the Deputy Head of Mission Abel Aballe Despaigne, as well as representatives of the University of Informatics Sciences (UCI), the Technological Park of Havana and the companies ETECSA, Ingenius and ETI, who exchanged with their Indian counterparts on business proposals, were also present.
Cuban Minister of Communications, Mayra Arevich Marín, who participated in the forum virtually, encouraged Indian companies to take advantage of the existing synergies for the development of cooperation between the two countries in this sector.
During his presentation, the First Deputy Minister highlighted the potential for the development of business opportunities between Cuba and India. He extended an invitation to the companies present to participate in the Informatics Fair 2024, to be held from March 18 to 22 in Havana, while noting the facilities that will be granted to Indian companies for their attendance at the event.
As part of the event, the University of Informatics Sciences of Cuba, represented by the dean Dr. Yaimí Trujillo, signed memorandums of understanding with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), for collaboration in teaching and research in the software industry, and with the company Agni Interactive Ignite Creativity for collaboration in the entertainment industry and video games.
