Cuba and Namibia consolidate diplomatic relations

Ambassador Sergio Vigoa de la Uz paid a courtesy visit to the Minister of International Relations and Trade, H.E. Selma Ashipala-Musavyi, in which they agreed to develop economic collaboration at the level of political and diplomatic relations.

During the meeting, the diplomat expressed his gratitude for Namibia's continued support of the Cuban people in the regional and international arena, its rejection of the United States' economic, commercial, and financial blockade against Cuba, and its inclusion on the list of countries allegedly sponsoring terrorism.

The minister, who was one of the Cassinga girl survivors, recalled the close ties of friendship and the role of Cuba in Namibia's war for independence and for the training of its human resources after 1990.

Ashipala-Musavyi also expressed her gratitude for the letter sent by her Cuban counterpart, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, who congratulated her on her appointment, wished her success in her administration, and pledged to continue working to strengthen the historic bonds of brotherhood between the two nations.
