Cuba attends the 20th General Conference of UNIDO.
Vienna, Nov. 27. The First Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Industry (MINDUS), Yamilín González Milián heads the Cuban delegation participating from November 27 to December 1 in the Twentieth General Conference of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).
The General Conference serves as a unique platform to take stock of progress towards achieving inclusive and sustainable industrial development. It also provides an opportunity for Member States to provide strategic guidance on the future of the Organization, while offering a forum for knowledge-sharing and fostering industrial cooperation.
During the Inauguration Ceremony, the outgoing Chairman, Ambassador Mohamed Mezghani of Tunisia, called for the intertwining of development and peace and dedicated his last words as Chairman to advocating respect for the rights of the Palestinian people and an end to their suffering.
Cuba and UNIDO are implementing a Cuba Country Program for the 2021-2025 cycle that is articulated around four fundamental components: innovation and availability of information, productive transformation, investment and technology transfer; and sustainable management of natural resources and improvement of the quality of the environment.
