Cuba, on behalf of 35 countries, condemns the flagrant violations of the human rights of the Palestinian people.

Geneva, 26 March 2025. Ambassador Rodolfo Benítez Verson, Permanent Representative of Cuba, delivered a Joint Statement, on behalf of 35 States, at today's Human Rights Council debate on the human rights situation in Palestine and other Occupied Arab Territories.

The 35 countries condemned the attacks by Israel's occupying forces against the defenceless Palestinian population, as well as the criminal blockade of food, fuel and medical supplies.

They demanded the immediate return to a ceasefire and the unrestricted entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip.

A strong condemnation was reiterated of Israel's gross and systematic human rights violations in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, and a call was made for the Human Rights Council to do more to end this tragic situation and ensure accountability.

The group of nations reaffirmed their support for the Palestinian people's inalienable right to self-determination, demanded an end to Israel's illegal occupation, and called for the creation of an independent Palestinian state based on the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, to be guaranteed.

They also expressed their support for the admission of the State of Palestine as a full member State of the United Nations.
