The Government of Cuba has denounced the latest measures adopted by the United States against the country, describing them as a further escalation of a long-standing policy of hostility aimed at tightening the economic, commercial, and financial blockade and increasing pressure on the Cuban people.
Cuban authorities reiterated that Cuba's inclusion on the unilateral U.S. list of alleged State Sponsors of Terrorism lacks any factual basis or credibility. They stressed that the designation is driven solely by political motives and noted that even senior U.S. officials have been unable to provide convincing arguments to justify the measure.
According to the Cuban Government, the true objective of these actions is to intensify the economic siege, deepen the hardships faced by the Cuban people, and create conditions for destabilization and interference in the country's internal affairs.
Cuba also strongly rejected the inclusion of the President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, members of his family, as well as Cuban institutions, civil society organizations, and companies on a unilateral U.S. sanctions list. The Government described this decision as yet another example of Washington's interventionist strategy to portray Cuba as a threat to U.S. national security.
The Cuban Government reaffirmed that every action aimed at creating a scenario of confrontation between the two countries is destined to fail. It also reiterated that any threat against Cuba's independence, sovereignty, and the Cuban people's right to determine their own future will be met with greater unity, resolve, and determination in defense of the nation.
