Cuba denounces in Vienna the impact of the blockade and inclusion in the list of State sponsors of terrorism.
Vienna, May 22, 2023 - The First Deputy Minister of Justice, Rosabel Gamón Verde, who heads the Cuban delegation to the 32nd session of the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, intervened this Monday in the General Debate.
In her speech, the First Deputy Minister highlighted Cuba's progress in the legal system, which has demonstrated the country's commitment to crime prevention, access to justice, the fight against human trafficking and transnational organized crime.
In pointing out the progress achieved, Gamón Verde noted that this had been achieved despite the inhuman policy of maximum pressure and economic asphyxiation implemented against the country, which ignores the universal clamor for a Cuba without a blockade.
The head of the Cuban delegation also condemned in the strongest and most absolute terms the fraudulent classification of Cuba as a State sponsor of terrorism and stressed that Cuba is not a State sponsor of terrorism, a truth recognized by all.
The 32nd session of the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice is being held in Vienna, Austria from May 22-26, 2023. It acts as the principal policy-making body of the United Nations in the field of crime prevention and criminal justice.
