Cuba inaugurates baseball training center in Wiener Neustadt, strengthening sporting ties and friendship

Wiener Neustadt, December 19. During a productive visit to the city of Wiener Neustadt, Ambassador Pablo Berti Oliva and representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in Austria participated in the official inauguration of a modern indoor baseball training center, a facility that will allow for the practice and development of this sport throughout the year and is located right next to the stadium that hosts the “Wiener Neustadt Diving Ducks” team.

In a symbolic and festive ceremony, Ambassador Berti Oliva, together with Philipp Gerstenmayer, Sports Authority in Lower Austria; Klaus Schneeberger, Mayor of Wiener Neustadt, and promising young local baseball players, cut the ribbon to open this new sports facility.

Prior to the inauguration, the Cuban Ambassador held a meeting with Mayor Schneeberger. The meeting was also attended by representatives and authorities from Czech baseball, highlighting the regional nature of the promotion of this sport in Europe. During the dialogue, opportunities to expand sports and cultural exchange were explored, taking advantage of the new center as a hub for development.

This concrete initiative reflects Cuba's commitment to people-to-people diplomacy and the promotion, through sport, of values of solidarity and international cooperation.
