Cuba Intervened as an Observer State in the 23rd Conference of States Parties to the ICC

The Hague, December 3, 2024 The representative of the Cuban delegation intervened in the general debate of the ICC, as an Observer State.

Cuba emphasized its commitment to the Charter of the United Nations and the International Law and its firm rejection of impunity for crimes that seriously affect the international community.

Likewise, Cuba denounced the genocide that is carried out with total impunity in the illegally occupied Palestinian territories and the need to urgently create a truly independent international jurisdictional institution, which contributes to guaranteeing the effective confrontation of impunity for the most serious crimes.

The space was opportune to reaffirm Cuba's will to contribute to face impunity and its firm commitment to international criminal justice, reiterating that it will always act in accordance with the principles of transparency, independence and impartiality, and to be consistent with the unrestricted application and respect for the International Law.
