Cuba participates in the 5th General Assembly of ISA

The head of the Department of Renewable Energy of the Ministry of Energy and Mines of the Republic of Cuba, Rosell Guerra Campaña, led the Cuban delegation that participated in the 5th General Assembly of the International Solar Alliance (ISA), which took place in New Delhi from October 18 to 20, 2022. The head of Cuba's diplomatic mission in India, Ambassador Alejandro Simancas Marín, the director of Renewable Energy of the Electrical Union (UNE), Ovel Concepción Díaz, and diplomat Abel Aballe Despaigne, were also part of the Cuban delegation to this forum.

As part of the program developed within the framework of the Assembly, the Cuban representation held a bilateral meeting with ISA Director General, Ajay Mathur. During the exchange, Cuba's contribution to the growth and strengthening of the organization was highlighted, as a founding member of ISA and as its Vice President for Latin America and the Caribbean during the past two years, as well as the support granted by the organization for the development of solar energy in Cuba. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to continue working together to expand the use of this renewable energy source globally, particularly in the Caribbean region.

During its stay in India, the Cuban delegation also participated in the 3rd Edition of the "International Conference & Exhibition on Pathways for Global Partnership in Green Energy: Powering India & the World", at the same time held various exchanges with several companies in the renewable energy sector and chambers of commerce; spaces where the numerous business opportunities in this area that Indian companies can in Cuba were highlighted.
