Cuba participated in the Seventh Session of the General Assembly of the International Solar Alliance (ISA), held in New Delhi. The Cuban delegation was headed by Marlenis Águila Zamora, deputy director of Renewable Energies of the Cuban Ministry of Energy and Mines.

In the inaugural session of the Assembly, our country was recognized for the implementation of two renewable energy development projects in conjunction with ISA. One of them will enable training and capacity building in solar photovoltaic technologies and will serve as support for professionals from the region of Latin America and the Caribbean. These initiatives demonstrate the unity between the Alliance's goals of supporting developing nations and the commitment of those countries to implement them successfully.

In her remarks, Marlenis Águila reiterated Cuba's commitment to continue contributing, with a social and inclusive vision, to the ISA's objectives and programs in pursuit of a sustainable future, while thanking the ISA for its confidence in and support for the Caribbean nation. Finally, he stressed that Cuba will continue to offer its modest experiences to the countries that need it and particularly to those of the Latin American and Caribbean region, the Cuban directive said.

Parallel to the Assembly program, the Cuban delegation held bilateral meetings, among them the exchange with ISA Secretary General Ajay Mathur, with whom they reviewed the status of cooperation projects with Cuba and the willingness of both to continue advancing for the development of solar photovoltaic energy in our country.
