Cuba participates in a business conclave in the city of Pune, India.

The Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the Cuban Embassy in India, Abel Aballe Despaigne, participated in the India-Latin America and the Caribbean Business Conclave, organized by the Global India Business Forum in the city of Pune, Maharashtra state.

The Cuban diplomat made a presentation on business and foreign investment opportunities in Cuba. In this regard, he highlighted the characteristics of the Cuban economy, the conditions created for the promotion of foreign investment and international trade, as well as the Mariel special zone. He also highlighted the existing opportunities for Indian industry in Cuba, based on the existing synergies between our economies, particularly for trade and investments in the tourism, communications, biotechnology, agriculture and agribusiness and energy sectors, with emphasis on renewable energies.

More than 100 companies from different sectors attended the event and discussions were held with some twenty of them, with interests in the tourism industry, software, pharmaceuticals and the export of machinery and equipment for industry, particularly the food industry.
