Cuba participates in Day E celebrations in India.

The Embassy of Cuba in India participated in the celebrations for International Book Day and Spanish Language Day, which took place at the Cervantes Institute in New Delhi.

At the inauguration of the event, which was attended by the director of the Institute Oscar Pujol, as well as Heads of Missions of the Embassies of Spanish-speaking countries; the Chargé d'Affaires a.i. Abel Aballe Despaigne dedicated to those present one of the poems of our national poet Nicolás Guillén, “Song of the Bongo”.

As part of the day's activities, the Embassy, in collaboration with Cuban dance instructor and dancer, Indira Mena Hernandez, gave a Cuban salsa workshop, which was attended by more than 50 young Indians. Given the great acceptance and interest of the students to learn one of our popular dances, the workshop will continue for several sessions during the month of May.

The diplomatic mission also presented an exhibition on the history, culture and tourism of our country, which included a variety of brochures, photographs, handicrafts, music and dance.

Throughout the day, a variety of cultural activities were held to strengthen ties between India and Spanish-speaking countries.
