Vienna, November 13, 2021. Through a keynote videoconference by prominent Cuban author Francisco López Sacha, Cuba was present at the Vienna Book Fair, the most important literary event of the year in the Austrian capital. The Embassy of Cuba in Austria participated in the event, located at the Cervantes Institute in Vienna.
Professor López Sacha described, in his presentation, the details of the Cuban literary creation of the late 1990s and early 21st century. He referred to numerous Cuban writers of great national and world prestige, and highlighted the authenticity of the Island's literature, as well as the great quality of Cuban culture in general.
In the discussion following the presentation, the Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of Cuba, Marlen Redondo, highlighted the high level of professionalism of Cuban literary creation and invited the participants to attend the International Book Fair that will take place in Havana in February 2022. Participating writers and intellectuals congratulated Cuba for its significant cultural achievements.
Members of the accredited diplomatic corps in Austria, the President of the Austria-Cuba Friendship Association, the President of the Association of former Chilean political prisoners and other friends of Cuba were present at the event.
