Cuba for Peace from Canada

In a tour of 11 cities in Canada, Leima Martinez Freire, Director of North America of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples, together with Aileen Carmenaty Sanchez, Third Secretary of the Embassy of Cuba in Canada, in charge of social movements, carried out an intense program to exchange on the "Role of Cuba in the struggle for Peace".

During the tour they held meetings with solidarity organizations and trade unions in: Ottawa, Montreal, Kingston, Toronto, Niagara, Vancouver, Victoria, Calgary, Edmonton, Regina and Winnipeg. In these cities, several events were held with the participation of friends of Cuba, Cuban residents and solidarity members.

Topics of great interest to those present were exchanged, such as: Israel's genocide in Palestine; the role of women in revolutionary processes; US sanctions against Cuba; food security and Fidel Castro as a paradigm and promoter of world peace.

Likewise, the unwavering will and commitment to continue contributing to regional and international peace and security was reaffirmed, within the framework of the tenth anniversary of the Proclamation of Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace.

In each city, those present ratified their support in the struggle for the end of the US blockade against our country and for the removal of Cuba from the arbitrary list of state sponsors of terrorism.
