Addis Ababa, May 4, 2026.- The Cuban Embassy in Ethiopia participated in the photographic exhibition entitled "Africa Through the Eyes of Diplomats: Africa Close to Their Hearts," held in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa. The event brought together representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited to the country.
On this occasion, two of the works submitted by our Embassy were selected to be part of the exhibition, reflecting the artistic sensibility and deep cultural ties between Cuba and Africa.
One of the photographs highlighted the beauty of the bougainvillea flower, a natural symbol shared by both countries, evoking the closeness, color, and vitality present in both the Caribbean island and the African nation. The image emphasizes not only the aesthetic value of this flower but also its significance as a cultural bridge between the two peoples.
The second selected work depicts one of Addis Ababa's most representative churches, capturing the architectural and spiritual richness of the Ethiopian capital. This image underscores the respect and admiration for the traditions and historical heritage of the host country.
The participation of the Cuban Embassy in this exhibition reaffirmed the bonds of friendship and cooperation between Cuba and Ethiopia, as well as the diplomatic mission's commitment to promoting cultural exchange and mutual understanding.
The exhibition, "Africa Through the Eyes of Diplomats: Africa Close to Their Hearts," provides a space to celebrate diversity, strengthen ties between nations, and bring people closer together through art and photography.
