Cuba reaffirms support for Venezuela from Zimbabwe

Harare, September 30, 2025 – The Cuban State Mission in Zimbabwe today reaffirmed its support for Venezuela in the face of US threats with the signing of the Declaration of the Revolutionary Government in Solidarity with the Homeland of Hugo Chávez.

Diplomats and members of the educational and medical brigades signed the statement in this capital and the cities of Bulawayo and Bindura stating that "It is urgent to prevent a military aggression against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela" in light of the escalating actions by the United States government to justify it.

The Cuban Ambassador, Her Excellency Ms. Susellys Pérez Mesa, expressed her categorical support for the South American nation via video conference to her Venezuelan counterpart in Namibia, concurrently in Zimbabwe, Her Excellency Ms. Magaly Henríquez González.

Pérez Mesa referred to Cuba's statements through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the most recent one by its Foreign Minister, on the occasion of the High-Level Segment of the 80th United Nations General Assembly, calling for international mobilization to prevent the sinister interests of the United States.

She also explained the signature campaign underway in the Caribbean nation and its missions abroad. What is at risk today is the peace of the region, the proclamation of Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace, she added.

According to Ambassador Henríquez González, we are not alone thanks to Cuba and many friends around the world, demonstrating the need to stand together and raise our voices in the fight for freedom and peace in Latin America.

I sincerely appreciate the support for our struggle for the ideals of the liberator Simón Bolívar, of Commander Fidel, and of Commander Chávez, the Venezuelan diplomat stated.

The brigade coordinator from the Ministry of Higher Education, Isnel González, recalled Washington's repeated attempts to undermine regional peace and stability as part of its imperial policy, as well as the media's role in disinformation campaigns to support provocative actions.

The members of the 14th Cuban medical contingent in Zimbabwe joined in the signing of the document from their hospitals in Harare and Bulawayo, led by Dr. María Eugenia García, who reiterated her solidarity with the Venezuelan people and President Nicolás Maduro.
